Global Environmental Policies
Going Paperless
We aim to reduce paper resources by using its owned development service.
In recent years, the Japanese government has encouraged the digitalization of economic activities across the whole of society through the e-Document Law and promotion of electronic receipts. However, in many sales settings, sales and customer information are still managed in an analog environment. Even in back office operations, the reality is that a large amount of paper resources are used as receipts for inter-company orders and procurement and in general in-store and warehouse inventory management. Digitizing for all of these processes would result in a significant positive impact on the environment.
Smaregi is committed to promoting the digitalization of store management, going paperless and smarter business transactions. We have also expanded into the field of human resources management with our development of a cloud-based attendance management system Smaregi TimeCard with workflow functionality.
Energy-efficient Server Use
We operate energy-efficient and cost-saving servers that manage and store vast amounts of transaction data amounting to approximately one trillion yen annually by proactively adopting new technologies and implementing appropriate archive processing.
In store management, by switching from a “client server system,” where servers are stored on premises in each store, to a cloud server, we are able to reduce unnecessary use of server resources. By working with customers to reduce power consumption and use energy more efficiently, we are taking steps towards the realization of a decarbonized society together.
Resource Recycling
We are committed to promoting the 3Rs (reduce, reuse, recycle) and contributing to the creation of a recycling-oriented society.
As part of these activities, we provide computers we don't need to educational institutions free of charge to help young people learn more about programming. We will continue to support the creation of ICT learning environments in educational institutions while striving to use resources more efficiently and reduce waste.
